I'M ABSOLUTELY THRILLED WITH THE DEPTH OF THE MATERIAL....
2004

bulletOur 4 yr. old and our 5 yr. old inevitably want to do more - to go on to the next levels.
bulletOur 5 yr. old, Jeremie, went to bed with tears running down his face reminding me that I had promised him he could do more with the Red and Blue Rods, but now it's too late.
bulletMy husband and I, as well as our children, have fallen in love with your wonderful software!
bulletIt's fun to watch our son as he closely imitates Monty Sory's mouth movements while clapping sounds.
bulletOur son says he hates math, but he looooves MECS Math!
bulletThe wonderful thing is that our kids don't quite know that it's "work".  To them these are just the most wonderful games that we get to play!
bulletThank you so much for making this software available to those of us who enjoy working with our children at home.
bulletI look forward to working with you through the years as you produce new programs.

A pleased parent,

Karen Jackson

From a homeschool student:

Dear Mrs. Parker,

I love the geography programs!  I am so happy that you have done this.  And I love adding with the red and blue rods.  And I love the Africa, and I can't wait until you do the Asia ones.

                                                           Your friend,

                                                           Nathaniel

Brandon, age 6 yrs. was diagnosed at 18 months with complex partial seizures, left hemiparesis and ataxia.  At 21 months he was tested 6 months delayed.  I started learning sign language and he was in physical therapy.

When he was 3 years old,  I enrolled him in a Montessori Preschool.  The materials were perfect for him but he was having some very disturbing screaming seizures which were not practical in a school setting.  We felt it was more practical to homeschool him.

We tried a few curriculum here and there but we just didn't find anything that worked for him.  When he was 5 years old I found an Occupational Therapist who helped but I was absolutely thrilled to find the MECS software at a homeschool conference.  It is the only software I know my son is learning from.  All the others are just junk in my opinion.  They are often too noisy, over-stimulating, and confusing.  MECS software programs are simple, calming, progressive, teaching, and well-made.  The instructions are clear and easily understood.  There are no flashing lights, or loud sounds and music.  It catches my son's attention and he stays focused and interactive.

Thank you Thank you,

Carolyn Char

I just had to write you and thank you for developing programs that truly unlock my children's potential.  I've been home educating for almost nine years and I've never seen anything like it.  Its "see, hear, say and type" method works with my children who have profound learning disabilities.  The repetition is also an important component to help them embed it in their minds.

I am going to give you a little background so that you will realize the depth of my appreciation for your programs.  I have four children ranging in ages from 4 to 13, all of which have learning challenges.  They all attend speech therapy 2 times a week.  The 3 oldest have profound auditory processing disorder, and 2 of them have speech apraxia.  We also are dealing with visual processing deficits, integration and memory issues, sensory integration disorder, motor apraxia, and ADHD.  Teaching to their strengths has been difficult because of the complexity of their learning disabilities.

MECS software's "see, hear, say, type" method is necessary for my children because they need the input to come through as many ways as possible.  The simple, uncluttered format is also necessary for them and very hard to find in software programs or curriculum in general.

Another key component is the fact that the programs require 3 repetitions when introducing a new concept.  My children's memory deficits require this approach.  The children are tested and don't move on to the next level until they master the skills.

With three children needing 1-on-1 teaching there aren't enough hours in my day to do it by myself.  The computer programs are installed on all of their computers because we paid the small additional fee to license us to do that.  And are we glad we did because it allows them to work on their school work at the same time.

We also purchased quality headsets for the kids to use when on the computer so they aren't distracted by background noise.

Carol, your sweet, encouraging voice keeps them motivated to keep on trying until they master the skills.  It's always very exciting around here when someone masters a test!

The computer programs coupled with your Reading Kit for the hands-on approach is a winning combination!

For my husband, who is a public school teacher, and myself, we feel like a huge burden has been lifted from our shoulders because we have now found the perfect "tutor/tool" to assist us in educating our very special children.

This letter of thanks doesn't even come close to expressing our appreciation.  We just had to tell you that the MECS programs have changed our life!!

With more appreciation than words can express,

Mary Guido
